With this project we will see how to make a solar powered wireless weather station using an ESP32 WiFi module and some common weather sensors. The weather station is fully solar powered, so you don’t need to worry about external power. It can be installed in a remote location without having to lay long cables to supply power.
The board is based on ESP8266, which is powered through a 18650 battery charged via a charger module and a solar panel. Naturally alongside these we find several sensors such as the BME280 pressure, humidity and temperature sensor, a waterproof DS18B20 temperature probe for the outside temperature, a light sensor and a wind sensor.
