Die laufenden Projekte (Bioreaktor, Chromatographieanlage) und die Aktualisierung der fertigen Projekte benötigen „echte“ Platinen. Die Kupferschicht auf einer typischen Platine ist üblicher Weise nur 35 µm dick. Das Trägermaterial ist um 1,5 mm stark. Im Vergleich dazu: Die erste Druckschicht im 3D-Druck wählt man oft besonders dick. So um 150 bis 300 µm dürfen es schon sein. Damit werden leichte Justierungsfehler oder Unebenheiten des Heizbettes gern kaschiert. 150 µm? Das bedeutet bei einer Platinenfräse, auf der einen Seite bleibt Kupfer stehen (= Kurzschluss) und auf der anderen Seite (bei einer doppelseitig gefrästen Platine) könnte gut und gern die Stabilität beeinträchtigt werden.
